Background
Art and languages have always been at the core of my life, be it in education, hobbies or career.
Both French and British, I studied in Nantes, France. After a baccalauréat in humanities and visual arts, I graduated in English (translation, linguistics, civilisation, literature), then obtained an MA in English<>French translation, including modules in linguistics and British civilisation. I wrote my MA dissertation on J. M. W. Turner and the Industrial Revolution. I then moved to the UK in 1997.
While working at Angel Row Gallery in Nottingham, I made valuable contacts in the arts, which led to occasional translation work for local art galleries. I now live in Bristol, a street-art Mecca and a city with a vibrant art scene. Linguistic Alchemy® was launched in 2008.
Outside of my translation work, I volunteered at the Royal West of England Academy gallery between 2012 and 2018, and I have a passion for photography – I became a Licentiate of the Royal Photographic Society (LRPS) in 2023. Feel free to browse my photography website.
